I seem to have the worst problem with the eyepiece on my ZM.
The first one had the rubber peel right off shortly after getting it.
I just got a replacement one a month or so ago and I kept finding it loosening up.
I just went to grab the camera this morning and it's gone!:bang:
So frustrating especially at $35-$40 a pop.
Any recommendations as to how to keep this thing from coming off, short of torquing it on so hard that it will never come off?

I had the same problem with the eyepiece on my old Nikon F4s. What I eventually did was to use just a dab of blue Loctite to fix it in place. Not much, only a tiny little spot of it, and it never moved again unexpectedly. I could still remove it easily when I needed to, but it stayed put otherwise.

Just make sure you use the BLUE one. The red one will make it such that you need to blow-torch it before it'll come loose again.

Or you can use a small drop of clear fingernail polish. It will be easier to break the glue bond, should you want to remove it later.

If you go with the clear nail polish, I would screw on the eyepiece and then apply a spot of nail polish where the eyepiece meets the body, rather than applying it to the threads directly. Loctite is made for threads specifically, so it works well for that, but I one found that nail polish can be a nightmare if applied to threads directly. Works great as a sort of "tack" externally, however.
