B&W From Canon CP-220?

I just picked up a CP-220 on the cheap. It's a great little color printer but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience wrangling a half-decent B&W print from a printer like this.
Its ink ribbons only print CMY so I guess it's not very likely but has anyone found a profile that might give me a better result than a blue print?

If you have scanner, you may want to try this profiler
http://lprof.sourceforge.net/
I was able to get a reasonably good results.
But do not expect a miracle.
