International Film Buying Day 1. October

I'm pretty sure that film sales numbers on a monthly or quarterly basis won't be affected by this "film buying day". If the effort makes it into the news, I would be surprised. Turnover is going down into a niche and hopefully it will survive like vinyl did. When there's no more money to earn and the profit is going down the big companies will sell their part of the business to some small scale entrepreneur. I still have enough stock in the fridge btw.

Yeah, all the different retail sellers in the world are going to call each other up and note how much film sales increased on October 1. :)

Lots of folks just don't understand what a relatively small group of people serious film users are.

Film has never been cheaper around here. 4-rolls of Kodacolor 200 runs under $7 at Walmart, plenty in stock. Kodacolor 400 6-rolls at BJ's for under $10. I've bought 30-rolls in the last month.

I thought about getting a similar amount - for the three days in Amsterdam, that I have just booked - but the money has more than paid for my ferry crossing! (I'm shooting digital, this time) so am feeling rather pleased!:)
Dave.

Hard to find any Kodacolor in the Netherlands nowadays, rolls sold at photography shops vary in price from EUR 5,50 to 8,95 a piece, 36 exp.

Managed to pick up some twenty rolls at a supermarket store a while ago, and yes they were cheap, EUR 4,00 for a 3-pack. I've never seen them again over there.

I love Kodacolor, it gives nice pastellish colors with the developer my photo shop uses.

I'd quite like to buy a s*#t-load of film - for the fridge, but just realized I need to go and pay my car tax - before the 1st. Oct.!!....Damn!!...it's a cruel world!:bang:
Dave.
(yes - there is a little Scottish blood in these veins!:D )
