From a road trip on September 12, 2009 in my friend Cornbread's truck. We drove west from Houston. The day it rained 40 days and 40 nights. I was using the Pentax 6x7 and Hasselblad 501. We met some folks who drove up from San Antonio and had lunch at Central Market in Luling.

Proving that you can make photos in the rain. Share yours.

Grafitti at the mill. It was literally raining. There were raindrops on the groundglass.

Wayne,

A nice set of photos...I like the last one...I've been wanting to do a series of shots of the empty car lots that are now popping up...

Wayne,

Has anyone ever questioned you for any reason while shooting in or at these car dealers???
Just wondering what problems could arise from doing this...

It never rains here, well almost never. Photographically, it is a boring place. Besides we need some water, El Nino is supposed to come this winter. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyway, I went to Ireland to get some rain:

I'll go out for a walk in the rain

Or another walk right after the rain

Or just think about things at home...

I've visited a Saturn dealership in Houston 3 times. Nobody around at 5pm-6pm except a zillion commuters whizzing by on the freeway & feeder road. Giddings Ford is on the same highway about 100 miles west. Small town folks don't hassel me. Not yet anyway. I was there maybe 10 minutes. The rain was closing in again.

Thanks FrankS!

Thanks to everyone joining in with great photos. PeterM: The Brolly shot is nice.

Never taken photo under rain that's my rule to protect my equipment
but I broke the rule already and looking forward for the next rain to
enjoy again. don't forget to bring umbrella or something to protect
your camera too. I always have some plastic bag in my small camera bag
for quickly hide my camera out of the rain.

one hand for umbrella and another for my small cam

this picture was taken before rain storm I drove across a bridge at fishing village and saw that there were many boats along the canal including the dark cloud that impressed me.

I got soaked today during my lunch break as it was high wind advisory & rain. Negatives are drying right now, I'll try to get some posted tomorrow. I love shooting in horrible weather.

Anybody can photograph in ideal weather. I need to add an umbrella and some plastic bags to my camera bags.
