Does your GX work fine now? The pic is fine - looks great to me actually.
Yes, Arthur, it does! I wrote to Mark and thanked him, as well.
My GX and GS are now perfect. Ready for decades of use

Great photos from everyone. Keep them coming!
The best thing about Electro 35 in my mind is that the lens is just unbelievably good and it's really hard to get a wrongly exposured photo.
What else can you ask for a camera?

...I think the GS has a warmer color balance than the GX
This is interesting observation.
Did you use the same film in both cameras and did you take both pics with both cameras at the same time during the same lighting conditions? And how did you process your negs and scans?
What kind of film did you use to take your pics?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Arthur...
The film in both cameras was Fuji X-Tra 400.
I carried both cameras and shot each scene with both cameras.
Both rolls were processed at the same lab at the same time.
The lab did the scans and I believe it's completely automated, the scanner reads the film type from the film edge and zip zip zip, through the scanner it goes.
Each and every scene was warmer in the GS versions. You could certainly correct each camera to look like the other, but straight off the scanner, the GS has a warmer look.
I also noticed the GS is poorer at auto exposure when the scene is backlit. The GX excels in it's metering of "all situations without compensations". The GS tended to fairly seriously underexpose in backlit situations.
Sharpness is about the same in both cameras.
Viewfinder easily excels in the GX. The GS is dark and gloomy by comparison.
The GS handles better, and feels better in the hand. Shutter stroke is a LOT smoother than the GX and it just feels 'way better made' in general than the GX.
So, it's an interesting 'mixed bag' shooting the two, side by side.
Tomorrow I will post the same image, taken with the GX, won't color correct, and I think you'll easily see the image is substantially cooler than the GS version.

Once again thanks for your observations and here is my humble experience with film ISO compensation on Yashica Electro 35 GS:

The film was FUJICOLOR PRO 400H and I used x2 exposure compensation (film was iSO400 and I went to iSO200 on film dial). As you can see yet it wasn't enough and I would probably had to go for x4/iSO100 to get correct exposure (look at the bright sky
I wanna try same scene under same lighting conditions on the same film one more time to see what's going to happen.

Arthur...
I think one stop compensation on the GS looks pretty good. So it appears to be a known item that you must compensate a backlit scene with the GS.
I wish I had known that on my walk/shoot...I would have had some better backlit GS shots.
Your shot is also very very sharp!!
Have you ever investigated which aperture these camera like to the best to produce the sharpest results? It appears that they really like f5.6 and f8.0
See Ya!!

Here is the GX shot from the same scene on the stream as the GS.
You can see that it's quite a bit cooler in overall color balance. I also see that the GX chose a slower shutter speed than the GS did. In the field I figured the GX was correct and the GS was wrong, but now I am thinking the opposite. That the GX overexposes by 1 stop. The GX does however do better with backlit subjects (as was previously discussed). You can also readily see the difference in 40mm vs 45mm..!! Is the GX just a tad bit sharper..????

The Yashica Electro 35GSN is my first RF, and I cradled it around Singapore last year.

I especially loved the detail of the grass.
