Hi ~
Just got a new CV 15/4.5 (LTM) and use it on my R-D1.
Knowing that the R-D1 without the 15mm frameline, but not knew can't focus either.

Looking into the lens rear, found that the move in/out mechanical part for focusing can't even moving out and touch that on the camera (sorry for my bad English, hope you understand what I mean), ie the focusing patch in the rangefinder doesn't move.

So, my question is, is there any camera we can make use of with CV 15/4.5 proper focusing?

Or my CV 15/4.5 focusing part with problems?

The lens is not coupled to the rangefinder mechanism which essentially means you cannot focus via the viewfinder on any rangefinder camera.

You must use the focus scale on the lens. But don't worry, everything from about a meter to infinity will be in focus if you just leave it set to infinity.

By f/4.5 with focus set on infinity, you'll have blurred 1 mt. close subjects.

By f/4,5 with focus set on close subjects at around 1 mt, you'll have blurred background.

By f/8 you can set the focus to 2 meters, and just shoot everything.

By f/11 if you got enough light, you'll get the highest sharpness.

Cheers,

Juan
