not a real big problem yet, but i`m gonna do something about it one day.
I know i can get replacements from some guy[ its ok i have him listed somewhere and can find his details]
Question is, has anyone used another solution ?
Only the slow speeds in red have faded a little. regards

One of the better reasons for shunning late model Zorki-4 or the 4K. Painted markings. They rub off and get erased. Same could be said of the markings found on other KMZ cameras like the Zenit contemporaries of the Z4K.
One way to preserve the marks is to paint them over with clear varnish or lacquer.
There was a thread about this (disappearing shutter speed numbers on Zorki 4K have been in discussion since the days of Russian Camera on Yahoo groups and on Beststuff) where someone made a downloadable and printable graphic of the Z4/4K shutter dial. This can be printed and cut to fit over the obliterated speed scale.

thanx for info i will track it down, yep, i thought i was getting an early model, and i did but just missed out on the stamped dial, not really anything to get overly worked up about as there are no problems- only solutions, regards

I have a JPEG that I'll post later - print it out on acetate at 300dpi, cut it out and stick it over the dial with a clear glue - solved! It's a reversed image so you can print it on the underneath and it won't rub off.
