Does somebody know, where the production of the new Leica M9 takes place? Portugal or Solms? Maybe there is a first and second assembly, maybe there are even more stations...

I'm assuming the electronics themselves are manufactured in japan or china as most other electronic items are manufactured.

The electronics and shutter mechanisms are pieced together in Portugal.

I don't know where the brass pieces are forged.

All the parts are all assembled together, calibrated and tested in Solms Germany. Resulting in a complete M9.
 
From the video on the LUF when the M9 was first released, a mostly assembled M9 comes in from Portugal and final assembly and testing is done in Solms. Pretty much like the M7 and MP.

No, I found already this part. The digital cameraelectronics were developed by Jenoptik Thüringen (the guys withe the paraktica tanks), "together with Leica" as they write. Jenoptik is also delivering now the electronical parts. Sorry, got the link only in german.
