anyone know if a macbook pro or similar would fit in the space between the padding and back of the bag?
The dimensions on the website is a bit ambiguous. the outside being more than generous while the inside an inch too small. although i think they were measuring the padded compartment for the inside dimension.

Well, dimension-wise my 15" fits. However...
1) the zippered top makes it a squeeze to get it in there.
2) the macbook pro is a little thick for the internal depth dimension. It squeezes up the padded insert so you can no longer fit the larger lenses the Packington was designed to handle.
Overall I'd say not a very satisfactory combination depending on what else you want to put in there with it.

Hi Ken. May i ask what 15' laptop you have? i just want to check the dimensions.
The largest lens i have is a standard 50mm SLr lens. the rest are small RF lenses.
I'll most likely have two RF bodies with lenses and an extra small VC 21mm lens in the bag with the laptop.

I agree with Ken. I've just tried fitting my wife's 15 inch MBP (prev version - not unibody) and it will just fit. But as Ken says, it is a squeeze through the zippered top, and you'll end up scratching the casing over time.

Hi, Macpod. I have the original Macbook Pro 15" - 14" wide, 9.5" deep, 1" high closed. If yours is smaller it would work better. The top zipper arrangement does get in the way.
Two RF bodies and small lenses should fit ok with the insert squeezed up. The Packington is pretty deep to fit longer lenses - I used to keep a Nikon D3, 24-70/2.8, and 70-200/2.8 in there comfortably if that gives you an idea. You could stack lenses with couplers. The two front pockets are very roomy. The side pockets are smallish but useful for small things.

Thanks for the information guys. Im actually looking at the new HP envy 15 which is 14.9 inchs. So i think i will need something bigger. But i think im still going to go with the packington for my cameras. Anything larger for a camera bag is too much for me.
