My lovely Minox 35 has served me well for many years but one day the film advance lever just broke off. does ayone out there know where I can get i repaired?

You don't mention which model exactly, but given your location, paying less than the value of the camera may not be realistic. I see quite a few of them go for very little money on ebay because the seller doesn't have a battery to test it. If I were you, I'd bid on one of those. If it's really dead, at least you have a parts camera. If not, problem solved

Replacing the lever is quite easy- a few screws, really. Maybe you could get a parts camera and do the transplant. If you are absolutely allergic to tiny screws, DAG does wonders for Minoxes at very reasonable prices.
BTW, if it just broke clean off, it is possible to use the camera as a wheel-advance one: thumb friction works.

As for buying a new old one on ebay, that might be a good idea. It so happens I have a couple of spare batteries that my son got hold of when visiting Asia a few years back.
It might also be an option trying to find a spare lever. Using the camera without lever is not a good idea. Turning the wheel is so hard, thumb friction gives a bloody thumb tip!
