Pease help: My Xpan's focus is out. (Both Vertical and Horizontal.)What advice? I am from South Africa and my trusted repair technician is only prepared to open the camera if I can find him a "repair manual". Is there such a thing? If not South Africa, where can I send it to? Any idea of cost? All advice is welcome and appreciated

I ended up contacting Hasselblad direct to arrange for my 30mm v/f to be fixed - very fast and not too expensive (gulp)
 
It's dead easy to sort out the rangefinder on an Xpan - here's a little tutorial online.... http://photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/008zw6 The baseplate of the hotshoe fitting is simply spring loaded downwards by two flaps which sit under the sides of the hot shoe. Once you pick it up over the black plastic ring in the middle, it will slide out towards you quite easily. What's not very clear is that there are just two adjustments - vertical and horizontal. Set the vertical first - the nurled ring is edge on in the photos. Usually, both adjustments have a drop of nail varnish on them to prevent moving - you'll need to dissolve this off first with a little acetone (be careful - you don't want to drip it anywhere). Once you have the patches vertically aligned, align the horizontal patches at inifinty (I use a bright star at night). tiny splat of nail varnish on each and you're good to go.
 
I am happy to report a happy ending to my rf patch woes. I took Jon's advice and contacted Joerg at the Sunshine Company. (The new Hasselblad agents in South Africa.) They kindly refered me to Giles Deshaves at Pro-Camera, whose workshop is 3km from my house! He did a excellent job, at fair price. (About an hour's pay for a skilled a technicisan here.)
Don, also thank you very much for your advice. I will store your input, just in case. I will also pass it on to my regular camera technician. I really appreciate the detail of your help. ( am so hamfisted that I will not trust myself to do work at this level of difficulty)

I fell in love with my Xpan all over again and can't wait to take it for a walk.
