Hi all, I am new to Leica M8. So far everything is working okay but I am having some troubles mounting a few lenses.
hexanon 28/2.8 I need to play around with the mount a little bit in order to lock the lens. Not sure why, anyone experienced this before?
35/1.2 nokton. It doesn't lock at all. no matter what I try. It just won't lock in. Frustrated.
I haven't got chance to try all the ltm lenses but most of them are working well.
Would appreciate any input.

If the 35/1.2 Nokton has not been modified for the M8, it may not mount. I believe that CameraQuest can do the modification (free if the lens was purchased from them or if you are buying a bessa body, otherwise it's $150).

Thank you for the replies.
I have tried about 15 lenses, from early screwmount to modern leica, cv. 13 of them worked perfectly, no issues whatsoever.
It took me few tries to lock the 28 hexanon in place. Not sure waht the problem is but at least it works. I guess the 35/1.2 is not m8 modified because it works perfect with my other Leica M film bodies... sigh

Have not heard of this before

My M-Hex 28/2.8 mounts easily like any other lens on my M8.
I have heard about the 35/1.2's not fitting, but I think later versions or the last version fixed this - check before buying for an M8.

Actually, check that the lens has been modified before you buy the lens. The m8 is fine, and I wouldn't not buy because of a couple of lenses.

I had an M8 and have the Hex 28/2.8. They matched, but mounting always was tight, like parking in a big truck in a small space. I always had to line the red dot up with the camera very precisely.
Probably just the design of the lens.

I had the same problem with my Nokton 35/1.2 on my M8 - the lens would mount correctly but would not focus to infinity, it would be just short. I got a technician to just file a bit off the relevant part of the lens. How much to remove may depend on your lens and body.
