21mm viewfinder slippage

This might be a question for a general thread, but I was wondering if there is a safe-ish way to "tighten" the hot shoe mount on my G2 as the 21mm viewfinder slips out relatively easily. I have a small piece of nylon that I've cut to fit underneath the viewfinder's mount, which makes it thicker and effectively tighter and I'd consider gluing it on there permanently, but I thought I'd ask here first.

I cut a few sheets of Post-it. This way I can build it up with several sheets and it won't leave a glue mess behind. i did this after my viewfinder fell off and hit a hard terrazzo floor. It dented the housing, but the glass was/is fine. I bought another finder before Contax went out of business, just in case.

Actually, Kyocera stopped making the camera. Contax is just a brand name, not a company.

In the past, with shoes that seem loose, I've used a small block of wood and hammer to gently tap down the top rails of the shoe. GENTLY.

Jam some paper or thin card under the foot works but you still have to be careful. Adding a piece of masking tape on top of the camera and also up and over the finder looks like hell but is secure. With a black body you could pick up a roll of Scotch Black Photographic Masking Tape. It's a bit thicker and stronger than the tan stuff.

I cut small strips - maybe 2mm wide - of plastic from the top of a used film can and jam it between hot shoe and viewfinder leg. It's a hack but it works.

Thanks all, what I've ended up doing is putting a little bit of black hockey tape on the bottom of the viewfinder shoe, it's unnoticeable to the eye, but noticeably tighter.
