A while ago I got a copy of 'On Reading' by Andre Kertesz. I was working in Edinburgh at the time and was getting into street photography. After I read the book I kept on seeing people reading - everywhere, on the bus, in the park, in taxi's etc. So I started taking photographs of these scenes - they're obviously not up to the standard of Kertesz but I would like some comments on them...
Stranraer to Belfast ferry
Scott Monument ticket office, Edinburgh
Taxi rank on Waverly Bridge
Waiting for the bus on George Street
Paramedic, Charlotte Square
Princes Street Gardens
Royal Mile
On the Number 26 bus, George Street
So what do you think? I haven't put any of these on my website yet - I was thinking of creating a new gallery for my 'reading' pictures.
Cheers

I think it is an excellent choice of theme, and I like the shots themselves. I also like the fact that I can't spot anyone on a cell phone or laptop computer. I look forward to seeing more as you get them. I think the second, sixth, and last image are the standouts.

Very interesting subject choice, I'm quite fascinated by people reading as well, but I leave them alone most of the time. Here's my only shot of someone reading

There are some outstanding photos in this thread - I love paper or cardboard stuff in the streets.
