I own a Seagull-4A TLR camera. As it is an old model, the leather neck strap had softened and snapped off due to humidity over long period of time.

I got a new camera strap but ii's not compatible to the old strap type. How do I fit a new camera strap to my old TLR camera? Someone suggested OpTech Super Pro "A" version but that strap is not compatible with Seagull TLR.

Can any kind soul help me on this one?
Greatly appreciate for the kind help. Thanks. :)

Op/Tech strap with pro loop connectors? It's what I used on my old Rolleicord, looped around the slot through which the original strap connector passed.

Does it have buttons to attach the strap with, rather than loops? I did a google and found this...

the guy had a home made remedy, but it didn't last very long. In the end he says, "hi. Thank you for your interest . Unfortunatly, it is not durable. It broke rapidly. A bought an "official" replacement strap for 15 euros. "

Maybe you could ask him where he got the strap from.

I recall many moons ago seeing metal clips that fit over such buttons to allow "normal" straps to be used. I don't know how reliable these are.

Perhaps your best bet is to have a look in a secondhand store - generally they have boxes of old unloved bits and bobs that may come up trumps.

Good luck!

A picture of the camera strap lugs would be useful. My Minolta Autocord has a special lug and I bought a strap from Gordy's Camera Straps. Works great.
