Leica MP Top Plate?

I've been looking to replace the top plate on my m6, for awhile and sent my camera off to DAG for an alignment and a misc. repair on the film rewind knob. I have used an MP in the past and *vastly* prefer the rewind knob on them, so much in fact that I want to replace my top plate with an MP! Problem is, he hasn't got any and I'm wondering if anyone has a really ugly MP / MP top plate laying around they'd consider getting rid of?

Maybe someone knows where I can get one?

There are various parts sources on ebay. I've seen a lot of other top plates for sale, but now that I think of it I don't think I've ever seen an MP top plate for sale. If you have an M6 TTL you can find an M6 Millenium edition top plate that has all the same M6 controls, but just glossy black paint and the MP style winder. I went through a phase like you did then I got over it 😛

I am sure Leica parts can furnish one. You will not like the price.

M2,3,4, were superior cameras, but they are suffering old age. Move on.

Ditto! It's all good until there is a need to fix smth. MP is a compromise between classic M design and modern technology. However, M3 still holds the 1st place of the worlds's most best camera of the entire history of 35mm RF cameras by Arseniii's version ;-)
