Graduation portraits with M8

I only like the first one - but others have some potential. Some exposure problems it seems and some ugly bokeh. But ideas are good.

how can someone have exactly the same expression at each picture? Like travelling with a mannequin from madame toussauds and placing it at different locations around the town. don't get me wrong, she seems like a nice and attractive girl and i am not disputing your photo skills...just found it quite strange.

Good Lord, she's not modeling for a Helmut Newton spread! The pictures, although meant to be unconventional, show a graduating student smiling and looking happy after an important accomplishment. How on earth could anyone find that the same as being a "mannequin"?

Thanks for posting these. I also like number 1 particularly, and we are honoured to have the background to the Finnish matriculation system, which is an impressive rite of passage.

actually in case of newton, almost all the models have the same expression...not sure why you brought up newton. since when are the newton's nude studies and fashion work considered "portraits"?
having reread the original post, I see that the photographer had just one hour with the model. I think that explains the lack of variation better than epimetheus not being helmut newton. they are not bad shots at all..mine was just an observation.

I went through these photos a while ago when this post first appeared and never noticed the mono expression!

Now that it's been pointed out is is a little odd I must admit ... frozen solid maybe because it was cold! :D

Still very nice pics though. :)
