My Scan dual IV used to work well. One day it no longer would get through the setup phase. The green light just keeps blinking intemittantly, and the on-screen display never gets to the point of being ready to begin scanning.
I think it may have something to do with the gear that engages the film holder being out of sync with the position it should be in at the start of the scanning process. But that's only a guess.

Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Or any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you tried turning off the power and removing it from the system? Reinstall it. It seems like they sometimes get confused.

Yes I have even tried hooking it up to my old Compaq, with the driver freshly re-installed. No go. I think I may have made a mistake one day by pushing or pulling the slide holder when it wasn't ready for that. That's when it quit working. I wonder if that caused a shift away from the correct starting position of the mechanism. Now the power light just keeps blinking on startup, and the driver never progresses to the part where it is ready to begin scanning.

I have 3 of these scanners and have already made the mistake of pulling the slide holder before it was ready to be pulled. After thousands of scans I have not yet seen it keep on blinking forever at start. However I'm inclined to thinking it may be a software incompatibility. Otherwise service for these KM machines is very difficult to find around here.
