Enjoying the weather

Guys, I think I made a mistake for the exposure when I was outside in the snow yesterday. It was very dull and I took a reading off my hand's inside and then chose two stops faster shutter speed. Is that plain wrong and did I had to do it the other way around and choose a two stop slower speed? 😱 If so, I think I ruined half a roll of Tri-X. 🙄

Hi,
I don't think your exposure will be out as much as you think. Probably just one stop over.
When the lighting is really, really tricky I too meter from my palm. I'm assuming you are white skin so just open up one stop. Works for me. (Apparently 'white' skin is Zone 6 and 'black' skin Zone 5).

I've never messed up a roll of Tri-X during exposure but it's latitude and willingness to forgive are supposedly legendary so you may be OK. Best ask some of the d/room gurus.

Steve. 😉

A little bit of snow is sometimes fun ... 😀
