Wide Angle FD lenses on the EP-1?

Wondering if anyone has any experience using wide FD lenses on the ep-1. I was given a whole slew of fd glass and would be interested in using the 20mm f2.8 and 28mm f2. If anyone uses these focal lengths (or similar) and has some comments to share that would be most appreciated 🙂
 
I have been using FD wide angle lenses on Leica cameras and not with the EP-1. These lenses are really good lenses. The vintage 19mm 3.5 FL is a classic, and it is a non-retro design lens.

There is a Canon Adapter B which is a Canon FD lens to LTM camera adapter. Then, I use a Leica M adapter if I want to use the FD lens on the M. Adapter B appears here and there on ebay and even here. This adapter has been around for many years. I also have a Minolta lens to Leica LTM adapter. Both adapters are not RF coupled.
 
I have also used with Adapter B the Canon FD 7.5mm circular fisheye lens, and the FD 17mm 4.0. All lenses should work. Yes, the 19mm 3.5 is not FD but FL, but that is the same mount. The LTM version of the Canon 19mm is more a collector's item,and the FL version is exactly identical to that lens except for RF coupling being absent.


The FD lenses can be good bargains. A 20mm Canon FD lens would also be great to use. The Minolta-LTM adapter is less frequently encountered. I bought such an adapter locally about 20 years ago, and before I used RF cameras.

What you describe is the change in effective focal length on the digital camera. You will lose the 15mm effect. Still,you may have access to inexpenive FD lenses. Lenses such as the 15mm FD are not cheap. It makes more sense to go that route if you already own FD or FL lenses.

I also have tons of FD lenses which now can get a second life on a digital camera and also wide angle lenses on RF cameras. I am glad that I did not throw the lenses away.
 
I use Canon FD lens with E-P1.

Canon FD 20mm F2.8 SSC with E-P1.

Yup, and that's why I've been hesitant to get the adapter after hearing certain wides don't look so good. I don't really ever use focal lengths above 50 so I am restricted to using wides as anything else crops to tele.

Those shots from the 20mm fd ssc look great, thanks for posting. That's the exact same lens I have. I see an adapter in my future.
