New Orleans has had some odd weather lately, more rain than ever before, freezing cold temps for an entire week, not the usual Southern Swamp weather. So when this small wedding came up, it was just above 32 degrees and raining. Add to the fact we're going to do a portrait session the day after, and the temps are going to drop below 30.

However the bride's from the UK, the groom from Detriot, they handled it well. I forgot my gloves.

I love small weddings.

Leica M8 with 50/f2 'Cron and 35/1.2 CV
Nikon D3 with 85/1.4,28-70/2.8. 80-200/2.8,10.5/2.8DX

As usual your stuff just knocks me out...and I don't normally like wedding photography. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for sharing!

Best regards,

Bob

This may be a curious comment but it looks to me as if the images are vertically compacted, creating wide, round, distorted faces. Am I correct, or am I seeing things?

The images themselves are pleasing to look at, but this noticeable distortion is really bugging me. Perhaps it is my work monitor being at a goofy resolution?

Hmm, dunno there about distorted faces. Using what's considered the best current Nikon portrait lens with the 85/1.4 and a 50/f2 Summicron for most of the faces. Only on the inside group shots was a 28-70/2.8 used because of tight quarters.

Nothing wrong with the faces I think. Perhaps people in New Orleans look like that?
I like the images.
