Electro CC For $10.50 !

I was cruising eBay recently when I saw a job lot of photo gear that included "...an old Yashica camera."

Closer inspection of the image revealed it to be a Yashica Electro CC w/case and original box. Fingers crossed and hoping no one else had twigged to this fact I watched the auction to the end, bid and won. The result being not just an Electro CC with case and box but a mint one also with instruction book and original cap for only $10.50 (Australian)!

I let the seller keep all the other items I did not want and he sent me the camera only. Postage must be taken into account and that was $15.50. So, $26 all up.

It is my first CC and I am very impressed with the feel of it. I put a battery in and everything came to life - all functions A OK.

Will be exposing a roll of Delta 100 this morning and will process it at work later on.

It is good to have a win like this from time to time.

Wow. Nice grab. I don't know what they 'normally' sell for nowadays, but a couple of years ago they seemed to command $150- $200! -due to rarity I assume.

14 Bids $87.30 1d 3h 16m - that a UK auction. That's about $120 US. Guessing with that many bidders, the camera will go for $150 US, at least. Another "BIN" has it at $330. So, that's quite a steal at $10.50. Great little camera. I have one, and it's a perfect little street shooter, much nicer than build quality that the other Electros... pretty in black, and that 35mm 1.8 lens - a rare and pricey spec for a 35mm lens, is a fine performer. I'm selling my CC soon (but not for $10.50 😉

Wow! That's very cool... I want one!!!!

Actually I lucked out yesterday myself. Stopped at a Local Habitat for Humanities Thrift Store and found an Olympus XA w/ A16 flash for $4. The light seals are/were crumbly, but otherwise this one looks like a shooter with a nice clear finder.
I've already replaced the seals and loader her up with a couple SR44's and some cheapo drug store film.

Next stop... fame and glory! 🙂

If anyone becomes frustrated by not very useful 35/1.8 lens poked into Av body without speed control, dependent on batteries, I'll offer you $10...wait, maybe even $20, just because I love mankind and I can not see you suffering 😀

I use black 35 MC a LOT more than full-sized 35 G. Black is nice, though small size is what makes me choosing it. I think range of small-bodied Electros (mainly GX and CC) are quite practical daily cameras.

But you will like the lens of GT.

I just finished processing the test roll of Delta 400 that I put through the CC and I could not be more pleased with the results. Once I master scanning I will put some images up.

The feel of the camera is great, the results from the lens are excellent - in fact I cannot get over the quality of the image, it is truly a fantastic performer. The metering in low light and heavily side lighted situations is very very good.

I have a RF kit comprising two Electro 35s, a GTN and a GSN in a Crumpler bag that is always ready to grab and go. I will now change this configuration to the GTN and the CC.

Should have an image of the camera up on the forum late this evening.

The CC is a bit smaller (width and height) than the FC and the size difference in your hand between them and the GSN is greater than is rendered here, IMO. The GSN seems absolutely huge when handled with the others.

I hope the light seals in your camera are okay, I have a CC and a CCN, both of which needed the seals replaced before I could use them. You got a great deal, your paid about $4 less for your CC than I did for mine.

The CC/CCN cameras take great pictures. The quality and feel of the cameras are not up to par with my Leicas, but the images I get from them are every bit as good. Both cameras cost me less than a used metal lens hood for my Summaron... I think I'll leave my M4 at home this weekend and take out my CCN instead.

The light seals will need to be replaced but this is something I do on my other Electros so not an issue. An hour or so and they are done.

I find that using the sling from the ER case provides ample protection from any possible light leaks as well as a more substantial grip.

Sorry I have yet to put up images of the CC but my little point and shoot digital is not providing quality images.
