lovely mauro, excellent work. i'm most fond of the third carousel shot and the street images. the exposures are really spot on, i believe. the use of dof for the street performer shot is perfect. i could go on ... but you get the idea :)

would you mind sharing film/development information?

Mauro, you should post more I love your images and your equipment.

My thoughts exactly ... your images and the tonality they posess reminds me of why I choose to shoot black and white all the time ... and the fact that you do this with such classic Leica gear makes it that much better!

by the way, does anyone know what kind of cap will fit on a summarit?
the filter diameter is a 41, so I guess a 41mm snap-on cap would work (?) - not sure about the diameter for a slip-on cap, though.. any ideas?

I bought from CameraQuest the Voigtlander hood and cap for 41 mm fits Summarit 1.5.

Mauro, very nice !! I like the classic look of your BW photos. My Summarit 5cm/1.5 is on its way to Sherry Krauter to have it adjusted, focus is way off .... :(

Great Images Mauro, I found your images gallery from another thread you were in.."what 50 would you recommend..I think Raid started it.

I will be getting a 50 Summarit by the end of next week. And have been searching for images made with this lens. I loved your "guy sitting next to a chess table on a boardwalk" some where in the world. This is a hard lens to find under $400 US. but KEH had a BGN that Dan said was in good user condition with no issues that would effect IQ, and no mechanical issues...just cosmetic with a few faint cleaning marks in on the front element, and some brassing on the barrel.

Do you have more images with the Summarit in a gallery or here?
I'm guessing you like shooting at f/2.8 - f/1.5 most of the time. The amount of OOF areas is always the majority in many of your images, with very placed In Focus foreground areas.

I like these shots a lot. A testament to the classic look that Leitz lens can produce, especially in black and white.

I was just wondering - were these shot with your Summarit or Summitar? As I am quite sure that the lens you have mounted on your Barnack is a Summitar, not a Summarit.

I have a Summarit 1.5 and it is not collapsible. Also, the bokeh looks less swirly and more corrected in these photos.

Anyway, regardless of which lens produced these photos, they are great.

Hope to see more of your work.

a Summar lens is mounted on that black Leica in that photo.

What Voigtlander lens hood takes the 41mm.??...
I need one also.

I have bought three Summarits these last five years and all have this thick haze on one particular element inside that cannot be cleaned without also removing the coating. Is this a common feature with Summarits?
