I purchased an old Agfa Isolette III with the uncoupled rangefinder. Managed to free the stuck rangefinder, but have to adjust it - however, the setscrews in the focusing knob are ruined so that I can't adjust the scale. Drilling out the setscrews did not work as planned. :bang:

Do you have an idea where I could get another focusing knob?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Uwe

Too bad about the setscrews. Probably only way to get another dial is from another Isolette or Record which is offered for repair/spare-parts.

btw Did you try screwing in the Dial using another thread (rotanional position) to start with ? Maybe you can find another rotanional start position whereby the rangefinder is Ok on infinity.

I've got half a dozen scrapped Isolettes someone sent me to use for parts. PM me with your address and we'll figure something out.

I managed to grab another Isolette III for some 25 EUR on the bay - the camera itself seems to have spent some time in a damp cellar, the Apotar lens is stuck - same as the slow speeds of the shutter and the rangefinder. :D
Oh, and it also has the notorious plastic bellows...

Still, I managed to free the rangefinder knob; however, it was not just swapping the knob: it seems there were at least two kinds of rangefinder housings with different constructions of the infinity stop for the knob and therefore different knobs as well (the small infinity stop screw in the knob is in a different position).
Fortunately, swapping the complete rangefinder is very easy.

Cheers,
Uwe

Thanks for sharing the photo Uwe !

Until now i didn't saw that type of endstop as fitted on the lower rangefinder.

I did see however at least 3 different types of rangefinder knob. And with that i don't incorporate the meter/foot types but the fixings (setscrews etc.)

The Isolette is rebuilt with new bellows, rangefinder swapped and the test film shows no light leaks. :)

Just a quick snapshot of my hometown in the snow:

Wow,things are so much the same as when I was stationed there in the early '60s.
I was in Fulda at Downs Barracks from mid 1960 until 12/'62 with the US Army.I have many pics taken with my Voigtlander Vito CL.Congrats on getting your camera working again.Ron G
