LOVE abandoned houses, but I tend to stay outside in the yard to photograph them, at least in summer, because some of them are giant hornet and yellow jacket nests!😱 (I live in central Virginia, btw.)

You might want to check out some of the old mining towns along the river on the Oregon side. Also lots of abandoned sites in the North Cascades (or at least there used to be, back in my days at the Seattle Times.)

Very nice. There is something about abandoned buildings. Here is one I shot last year in autumn. But more of a barn than a house. I kept it in color as it is a little "busy" in BW.

(EDIT: Oddly in my Firefox it looks less sharp than when viewed natively as a .jpg in Windows. Maybe something to do with the way FF manages images.)

I've noticed some abandoned houses in a forest, and decided to explore them. Here some photos :
