Hi tammons,
I will post a couple of pics in a few days. I have been scanning heavily in the last weeks, and my experience shows that most of the material is limited resolutions-wise either by the film I used or by the equipment. So I want to do some test shots in the next couple of days to get some higher resolving slides I can feed the scanner with.

I might be able to pitch in with a comparison too.
I will have the 7200 pro in my hands tomorrow and already have some sharp Bluefire microfilm on hand.
Same as Agfa copex. Resolves like 300-400 lp/mm or so.
Tomorrow I will do some 7200 pro scans of bluefire and compare it to 4000 dpi drum scans with a howtek 4500.
Also in the next week I will also be trying out some Rollei ATP 35mm film for the first time. Its actually cheaper than bluefire.

Will be interested to see the results of the Bluefire and Rollei film.

I have read, and translate in italian language, the Wagner's film scanner reviews of the Plustek 7600Ai, Reflecta RPS 7200 Professional and Reflecta PrcScan 7200 (appeared in www.filmscanner.info). For my needs, at the end of examination of the reviews, i have choosed the ProScan 7200 model.
Ciao.

I have the reflecta rps 7200, all in all a very good scanner, but apparently the sensor already died on me, I'll have to bring it back to the shop...

Ignore It (It'll go away)
Never used one (or heard of it), but the MidFormatScan MF5000 (due in June 2011) looks very interesting.

Capare to Nikon LS-2000
My old LS-2000 died recently, I was tempted to buy another on ebay, but tired of the SCSI interface, so decided to buy a Reflecta Proscan 7200, for my BW films. Decided based on the reviews red on the net. I am using Vuscan bought previusly for the LS2000. So here is what I found by comparation:
I usualy scan at 2750 dpi, the max for LS2000. At this resolution I used to get more detail from the Nikon. Reflecta seams to be a litle out of focus.
Speed was better on the nikon, but I am using a older USB port on the reflecta. Manual feed on both scanners, but easyer on the reflecta.
I think that for small prints up to 15x20cm or even 20x30cm quality is almost the same. After that, quality from the nikon is better.
It does not make sense in using hight resolutions on the reflecta, as you can not focus acuratly on this equipment, so the results will be soft.
Even so, I find it has good quality and usability for the price.
After this one dyes, I think I will buy a digital camera. Too bad.
Best regards,
Luis
