$330 for a used lens case??? Am I missing something here?

this is crazy. Is sold my 90mm elmarit with that case for 800$ previously. So the lens is wort of 500$ only? :))

What's disturbing is that someone bought it! That's how much I need to buy that 75/2.5 color heliar I want for my Bessa.

It's crazy the way collectors are driving prices higher. If you've already purchased your equipment then you know your investment will hold its value. It's a bad thing if you want to get started in Leica photography, though. High prices will shut out many potential leica photographers.

Dear Rob,

Are you missing something? Yup. You're missing a second-hand lens case for $330.

But then, are you a photographer or a collector?

I find that question increasingly easy to answer.

Cheers,

R.

But wait a second if I put mine for auction it would not go for that price I bet. How this happens? pure luck? I put mine 90 elmarit with this case for 800$ and it was not sold for twice. Then I sold it here to someone.

Hey, if you need a Leica case, you need a Leica case.

People are crazy. They will argue that this case will complete their collection or this case is super rare, or whatever.....

Life is too short to spend it on bull**** like this.

I noticed looking at the sellers other items for sale he has a set of steak knives for $39.00 ... now if he'd thrown those in it'd be a different story!

Unbelievable! I recently ordered a brand new case from Leica for my 90 cron - it cost me $70.

Guess I should have purchased a few extra and unloaded them on the bay :D

That seller is a great photographer btw.... I guess the steak knives are a necessary sideline to get by. But last week he offered to sell me his rare Linhof 8x10 at a good discount rather than sending it off to a rich collector because I'd actually use it. That was pretty classy, but in the end I still couldn't afford it and didn't want to take advantage of his generosity.

So if some idiot overpays 10x for lens case, maybe they are making other such good deeds possible? Thanks Mr. Idiot!!!

My guess is that it's not a collector's item, but a seller with a 75 lux or other pricey lens (but pricier with "original" parts) wanting to cobble up a package to sell as a "minty" offering.

More power to the seller! Looks like the two major bidders (u***4 and w***r) decided they weren't going to let the other guy have this.
The seller's other stuff has pretty reasonable BINs and this case started much lower than it ended.
I wonder what I might have that those two guys would want...
Rob
