I have several complaints about leica m7 battery cover position.
If you have the camera in your hand almost always like me, the cover contacts permanently whith the hand and it usually opens leaving the batteries to fall.
Have you any trick to fix this problem? The cover is loose and I put tape on it but it doesn't look very smart.

Ask for a replacement? I've never had this happen on any M7 I've shot.
Or a grip?

The covers on the two M7's I have lock securely in place. I would agree that either a replacment or an adjustment is needed.-Dick

The same thing happened to me me once in Europe. The battery cover fell off my M7 into a small drainage grate. I had to stick a piece chewing gum on a pencil and finally fished it out after about 20 minutes and several attempts.

I’ve never had a problem. But I imagine it helps that I use a Luigi case on all of my M cameras.

Lugi's cases cover the cover (funny), it can be an option.
