I have a strange problem with the film advance on both my Fed 2s. Both cameras were bought CLA´ed from 2 different dealers and are working flawlessly, except for the film being sligthly off the beaten path. About 2 mm of the negative ends up within the perforation in the lower part of negavtive, so the film is not close enough to the top of the camera as far as I can tell. As this is a problem with both FEDs, I guess I am doing something wrong
I have tried working a lot with the film loadning, but don´t seem to being getting anywhere. Gee - I feel like a dork
Any suggestions?

Not an uncommon problem on some older models but I would not have expected it on a FED 2. I get this on both my FED 1s and sometimes on my Leica IIIC. Apparently, modern cassette films are a fraction shorter than the reloadable type. You could try fitting a felt ring where the film spool sits, in the back/bottom of the camera, to make the thing sit a little higher.

The later Leitz reloadable cassette, like the mass produced ones, is 2.2 mm shorter than the first Leitz cassette. I was helped by a member here to solve the problem with a Leica IIIc by using a small spring between cassette and base plate. I now have a FED-2, and the edge of the image area does stray into the line of sprocket holes.
