I won an auction for a Nikkor 28 3.5 lens (which I've not yet received), but the lens doesn't have either front or back caps.
A cursory search has shown me that back caps are available either from Cameraquest or various sellers on ebay.
However, front caps seems to be more difficult to source.
Can anyone tell me if the CV front caps will work on a Nikkor 28?
And if not, does anyone know where I could get one?
I don't care about condition (as long as it works) or if its generic because it is for a shooter lens.
Please and thank you.

The CV slip-on front caps work quite nicely on my 28/3.5 (black barrel).
Here is what I would do, get the cheap as dirt, nice rear caps from China for about $3 each shipped and buy a 43mm front Zeiss center-pinch cap for the front. That is what I've done for my Nikkor RF lenses.
The Zeiss 43mm caps are terrible. The Voigtlander 43mm cap is much easier to pinch and probably cheaper too.
Yep, and a lot easier to pinch. The Zeiss caps have to be up there for the worst lens cap design ever.

No problems with mine staying tight. Maybe you got a dud cap?

Thank you all for the advice. I'll wait until the lens arrives and then decide what to buy.
