Trip 35 vs. RC

I have both and I can't see that either lens is better than the other, but control is certainly on the side of the Olympus 35RC. For the difference in price I'd go with the 35RC, but you really should look at the camera. These cameras do not have a very high build quality, so condition is way more important than in most other cameras. Frankly, the Trip35 is so easy to use I like it best, the 35RC is hard to use, with it's small controls and shutter priority, I really enjoy other more robust fixed RF cameras.

Both have good lens, not anything stellar but ok for an everyday camera. RC's light seals are PITA to do. A little larger version, RD, has an excellent lens.

I have only 35RC, though I second this - lens-schmens but which camera has proper means to set exposure? AE on mine is toast so I do not have experience with shutter, locking under certain conditions. I command and it works.

Johns right, if control is what you want the Rc is the better camera, as for lenses they are both very good peoces of glass, I must admit that the 35Rc is still my all time favourite rangefinder. Why you may ask, well I like its traditional control set up, shutter dial on the top plate etc, but each has something to offer. One thing I have noticed is that recently on ebay UK the prices have shot up for Oly trips, but if you hunt arround a bargain pops up now and again

35RC was my first camera ever and I still both have it and use it. Amazing controls, ease of use, accurate meter if you use either mercury or sinc battery, good quality glass. And true normal lens. Pretty much perfect rf, easy to focus too (with clean finder, really worth to get one cleaned if you have dirt there since it really makes a difference).

Actually I've wondered many times why I own any other film cameras then this one. Specially now in digital age when I do all product shoots, work documentation and specialist needs on digital anyway. Then I pick up my TLR and forget that I ever said that. But still it's one piece of kit every RF lover should use at one point. Good looking compact piece that delivers.

Sorry for praise but I simply can't think this piece objectively 🙂

Hello, i have both cameras:
just for the rangefinder instead of the viewfinder Trip 35
i think both are very easy to use, the rc is a little bit smaller, and i also love the viewfinder on the RC with the selected speed ans shutter. It takes magnific pictures.

Never tried a Trip but I absolutely love the RC. I think its lens is great.
