Here are some M8 shots I took today of Bushkill Park, a venue that survived a century only to be destroyed by a flood a couple years ago. This flickr set has some OM-1 shots, too.
My great-grandparents once ran the snack bar. My grandparents went here growing up, as did my parents, and me, and now my kids. My kids are the last generation, sadly.
Lens is ZM 28mm.

The bumper cars, boat out-of-water, and the poor picnic table are especially sad and well photographed. Nice use of color, also.

Thanks! That bumper cars pic is probably one of my favorite shots I ever took. I'm really excited about it.
I should also add how happy I have been with the M8's AWB performance lately, and with the creamy way it blows out highlights when you want it to. The sensor is really special.

That's really me
I recently paid a visit to an (now) abandoned amusement park I often loved going to as a child. It had the two best things a kid could want, a mini train and a petting zoo. All of those are gone now and most of the area has been demolished and restored into a park. There's some semblance left of the old park like the railroad tracks and ponds for ducks and fish. It's also strange how much smaller the park feels when your not a tiny kid anymore.

Yes, the bumper cars, boats and picnic table are the best, although they're all good. It's a shame these things are gone. So many people had so much fun at amusement parks.
Near us was Walled Lake Amusement Park. My Grandfather built the rollicoaster structure there in 1906. Every time I rode it I thought of him. It's been gone for about 25 years now. Just too bad.

film is exciting
I like these alot . The bumper car shot really gets me, the abandoned isolated feel is there but not to an extent where they seem creepy. I'm glad other people enjoy going to these abandoned places to document them.

Sad...that's a good way to describe those shots...
I love the irony of the boat being lifted out of the water...

I agree with the bumper car kudos, very nice! I can still remember being behind the wheel of similar little cars and loving every minute of it.

Scary how fast this stuff falls apart once it's abandoned. See that CFL in the last shot? That wasn't screwed in all that long ago, obviously.
I know of a place or two like that, maybe worth a stop although I'm not much into documenting.

Fabulous shots! I would of thought film if you hadn't of said different. The color has a deep texture to it. Your right about that sensor being so special! Hang on to that M8.

The last one has a great contrast between the old, ruined cafeteria-style table/chair unit and the compact fluorescent light bulb still in the fixture hanging from the rotting ceiling.

The bumper car shot is really fantastic! This abandoned place is a gold mine for good shots. So don't give up yet. I enjoyed your Flickr set too. Those that are taken from lower angle, like a kid watching around, are the ones I like in particular.

That bumper cars shot is wonderful and poignant. The style of the cars makes them look like they could have been sitting there gathering dust for decades. Fantastic!

Thanks, everyone! I really appreciate it. Actually, those OM shots in the flickr set were taken a few weeks ago, and I went back yesterday to take the color shots...and somebody had obviously been there, cleaning up. Gave me a tiny bit of hope that maybe it's not totally dead yet.
I loved that park so much...it just kills me.

Nice flickr set too - but the picnic table shot is probably my favourite.
The site might be worth another visit in different lighting conditions. Looks as if there are some good 'texture shots' to be had as well.
