Just developed my first two rolls of B+W HP5 out of my m2, the shots look great. I almost had a meltdown trying to get the film on the reels because one of them was bent, fortunately I had extras. Stay tuned for pics once I scan them.

Congrats and well done. It's always nice to see images on a roll on newly processed film.
A bent reel is a pain. I assume metal reels? An ongoing discussion but I use plastic. Even my Hewes sits idle in it's pretty SS tank.
Post a few shot.

Nice! What developer did you start out with? Seeing those exposed frames on that strip of film for the 1st time is quite fabulous isn't it!!:)

cool to hear. i'm all digital now, but this comment (a classic first time) really takes me back i time. congrats!

Congrats on your developing! It's a fun adventure you're starting.

I share your frustration. The first time I tried to do home B&W developing, I was fumbling around in the dark with a cheap, poorly-designed plastic reel and a curly roll of 120 film. I wrestled with the film & reel ... it was so hard to tell what I was doing. I think it took me 20 minutes to get the stupid thing on the roll.

When I turned on the light, I was horrified: I had loaded the paper backing on the reel -- the 120 film itself was in a pile on the floor! After the shock, I had to laugh about the whole thing.
