Hi, recently i bought an M8 with upgraded shutter up to 4000 speed. It has worked very good i cannot complain a bit.
But a friend of mine received this week an M8 without upgraded shutter and i observed this one has an "Advance" tag on the menu just beneath the firmware tag.
Mine doesn´t have this "Advance" tag on the menu, as well i do have the 2.004 firmware as my friend´s M8!
Is this wrong or this it normal in an upgraded M8?

Mine has it (m8u) it offers discrete and normal

up and down all of the menus, and not found an option for discreet or normal?
If it's not there, I'd contact Leica and ask them what's up since the regular M8's get the feature, and the M8.2s get the feature.
Maybe the M8 with slower shutter doesn't get any menu options?? Your manual is probably for the M8 normal/classic, not an upgraded M8.

No- because it was introduced at a later firmware that was implemented after the manual was printed.

agreed: with the discrete function provided via one of the firmware updates, it's not mentioned in the manual.

With 2.004 firmware it's the very last entry on the menu under where it should say Firmware 2.004. (Access by the top right hand "Menu" button and scroll down). Since it's the last item the quick way to get to it is to press "Menu" then the "up" arrow key, top one out of the four, which should take you straight to it.

Hi, thanks for your support, i finally updated my camera to latest firmware.
Althou it had 2.004 it lacked discreet mode, can´t say why, nevertheless...
Now i can enjoy discreet mode and let me it´s very discreet
