I just picked up a red Pop in beautiful shape for roughly $11 with the Hexanar lens and auto date. Does anyone know how to change the battery on the date back?
The 2 AA fot the flash are easy, but the date battery isn't nearly as intuitive.

There are several POP models....could it be that battery in data back is under little cover secured by screw or two - if you look on opened film door?

It's the Pop auto date that came out in 1988. There are a few screws on the back side of the film door that hold the date unit in place. I'll check there when I'm done with the test roll.

You want the camera to print a date on each of your negs?

My Konica A4 camera has cell designation pressed on that cover, CR2025. They were smart enough to put this mark so user has clue even without manual.

I found it. There are 5 screws on the inside of the door that hold the date unit in place, and a hidden one on the opposite side accessible by removing the cover for the date setting buttons. It takes a standard CR2025 3V like btgc mentioned. It seems to have been designed so you would have to take it back to an "authorized Konica dealer" when the battery went flat. Frank - I'm not crazy about the date printed on all my photos, but I want to make sure everything works on the camera, and besides, for party shots I can put up with it. I have plenty of rangefinders w/o date for the good stuff!
