Last sunday my M8.2, with CV 28/19 and Hexanon 50/2 was stolen in my own town, near Bilbao (Spain).:bang:
It´s a black paint M8.2 but the black dot was replaced (by a previous owner) with a red one.

Is there any international list for Leica stolen cameras I could use?

It´s time to use my M6 and Bessa R more🙄

It's a pity but I believe the police will somehow find it.

Are thieves really trouble in Spain?
I mean I had read a lot about them everywhere and you finalize the info here.
I am going to visit Spain in July and now I am thinking over the gear I will take with me.

Oddly enough, I have a good feeling it will be found too. Can't offer any more than that vague feeling plus sympathy and good wishes, but at least you know that others care too.

Very sorry to hear this. Might be a good idea to get in touch with the main shops in Spain (I know Fotocasion and Casanova in Madrid) and let them know the items were stolen, just in case someone tries to make some money out of them.

Is there any "stolen" thread on rff.com? I was wondering if it could be a useful one for people to post their stolen gear, even with photos if it, sometimes they have particularities that are recognisable. Photo.net's is well organised, but maybe it'd be worth having one also here - more forums, wider reach.
 
Good news. 2,5 years latter.
A person in good faith bought the camera on ebay and tried to register on the website of Leica. Leica put me in contact with the buyer and this asked the ebay seller, who identified the thief. The thief was charged by the police and agreed to pay me the price of all the stolen material. The buyer in good faith is the new owner of the camera. I bought another one shorty after the robbery.
A tip: register your cameras and objectives on the Leica website. Many thanks to Disefoto, distributor of leica in Spain, for their help and kindness.

The best thing to think about when contemplating going to Spain is DON"T!

I was robbed right on the main street near Sagrada Familia. Walked into the police station (they have about 20 in Barcelona) and had to wait 3 hours to file my report because the station was FULL of people who had just been robbed on the street. All kinds of people, Spanish included. I called Visa and the guy asked where it happened and when I told him Barcelona, he told that 2 out of 3 calls on stolen cards come from Barcelona. Don't worry though, the police station has a bank of telephones on the wall with the phone numbers for all credit card companies and consulates too.
