The "not-goal" in the england - germany game will be a boost for the "perfect" relationship of those two countries

Too bad they don't have video review for games at this high level. I"m happy Germany won decisively by more than just one goal so as to erase the smudge of that disallowed goal for England.

Unbelievable third Argentina goal from Tevez! Argies v Germany should be a fabulous game.
England were as dismal as I thought they would be, and I wonder if the care that much - earning £150k a week must ease the pain! Lampard's "goal" and the mistake for Argentina's first should mean we finally get some kind of technololgy used for difficult decssions but I'm glad the game didn't hinge on that - we were well beaten.

Tevez' goal was the first of theirs with real argentinian merit!
well the first one that came from fluid play and combination, not from a set piece.

Not a good day for North America.

I like Argentina's movement, and I like the emotional approach of the coach and the team. Some passion at last. They are all on the same page and it is clearly all for one and one for all with Argentina. As I said in a much earlier post, compare and contrast Capello and England. The Argentina - Germany game should be a real cracker!

Well. This seems to end as an 'all South American championship in the end'.

I think germany will have a hard time with Argentina. I'am not buying the weak at the back argument for argentina. Just mental lapses. They should tighten things for the big games. The german back 2 were seriously exposed today. If it weren't for england shooting themselves in the foot with school boy defending it would have been a close game.

In the end, I agree with some arguments out there that Argentina and Germany were the better teams today. They deserve to win regardless.
England had no answer in the 2nd half. They could blame the referee for putting them at one goal differential going into 2nd half but they showed no energy or skills after first half. Germans simply outrun them over and over.
As for the Argentina game, I thought Mexico wasted many opportunities and they seemed to put the anger towards Argentinian players. It's the referee's fault after all. If they could keep the composure a little better, they could have wowed the world today.
I don't know if instant replay is a good thing or not but I think fluidity of the game is crucial (at least for me). If they end up adopting the technology, it won't be anything like what happens in NFL or NBA. I can't imagine coaches calling "timeout" every 3-5 mins arguing about offset

Hi colleagues! I love Tevez, I've enjoyed him many years in Boca, in the Bombonera.
He plays with the feet, the brain, but mostly with the heart.
Quarters is the time for Messi, he will find spaces like in La Liga where nobody take care of him. Messi in the southamerican classification did not have good time.
Europeans defenses are more weak -it is the only explanation to have the awful Demichelis playing for Bayern-. In a small team in Argentina, that guysleep in the bench the whole year, he is a disaster.
Please, please, please Diego get out Demichelis, please. In the other hand Otamendi do it great.
Argentina have 4 victories, scored 10 goals, demichelis allowed two against us, nice numbers but we need to improve in order to face Germany. We have 6 days. Until now, Argentina and Germany showed the best of the cup. Probably Netherlands and Brasil will join that small group of good football, I hope that.

Atto if they can fix the hamstring of your good friend Walter Samuel
you will be OK, despite Demichelis. For the life of me though I can't see what Maradona sees in Demichelis, but then I don't see what Capello sees in John Terry either. Both completely useless, and Terry is a worm on top of that. Don't know what Demichelis is like as a person - maybe Maradona just likes him...

There's nothing to be ashamed of there, Elmer. You were knocked out by the future World-Cup winners, even though you never stopped fighting back.
On the BBC website there was a comment going something like "if that's how they play in South America why do we bother watching European league games ?" !!!

Because that's not how they play IN South America. That's how the South Americans play in Europe
Anyways, game was not bad. Brazil will have to step it up a little, though, for the next games.
