Hello,
Anyone knows the size of the filter of the non-goggle LTM summaron 35mm f3.5? I thought it is 19mm but seems it's not. Many thanks.

Yes, there is a A36mm slip on but there is a filter thread on the lens. Anyone knows the size?

The problem with this thread so far is that there isn't "a" 35mm f/3.5 Summaron LTM lens. There are two.

The original version uses A36 filters and has absolutely no internal "E" thread. The later version uses E39 threaded filters.

Earlier versions of the Summaron f3.5 had no filter threads, later versions did have filter threads. Sorry, can't help with filter size because I've got an early lens.

edit: I see Dwig beat me to it.

But, the later version with filter threads would not take 39mm filters because it still accepts 36mm slip-ons, I believe. Filter size would have to be between E33 to E34mm. Perhaps a series-type filter?

The Summaron f2.8 definitely takes E39 filters.

Lager lists the later f/3.5s as using E39. It also states that the f/2.8s were also E39, although there exists an A36 version of the f/2.8. The A36 version illustrated seems to lack the internal thread just like the original f/3.5. Lager supposes that the A36 version of the f/2.8 was an experimental lens and didn't see production. Lager also lists all of the f/3.5 M mount versions as using E39

I took a close look at my early f3.5 Summaron with no filter threads in the traditional location, inside of the last outer ring of the lens. This is an A36 slip-on filter early lens. There are threads in the black area closer to the lens element that are 21 or 21.5mm in dia. This is similar to the colaspible 50f3.5 Elmar. I'm not sure that this thread can be used to hold a filter because it may vignette on this wider lens.

Hi Frank,
Yes, that's the thread I refer to. Anyone know the size? Also looking for the size of 50mm Elmar as well. tks.

Those are not screw threads. They are just anti reflection rings(for lack of a better term) They are just rings, no thread. I've got the lens in my hand as I write this. look close and you will see they don't connect as a threaded part would be.

Forgot to add, this is my favorite 35mm. Just sold my 35 'Cron V1 and kept this one.
