CV 75/1.8 tasty?

The R3 works very well with the 75's. In fact I use my R3's as my prime 75 mm body - rather than the cluttered M6/MP finder.
I have a pre-producton version of the 75f1.8 (got it in April) and on our Flickr site there are some 40 shots done with it ( as a 75f1.8 set). More to come as at last I can carry it in public!
It is a lens with special characteristics - it is designed to give a slightly "diffused" look at f1.8-f2.0 for portraits or an almost "painterly" look with color film. Once stopped down to f4 and beyond, it is more of a regular look to it - sharp and with a medium contrast.
There are another 5 rolls waiting to be souped (Acros 100) done with this lens, a Summicron 75f2 and a Color Heliar 75f2.5. Will post pictures in the couple of days.

HELLO .... I didn't see this . . . mmm... if it carries a decent signature it may be worthy of an addition to the arsenal 🙂

Thanks for the linkage and heads up and such 🙂

Cheers,
Dave

This will be a very nice addition to my kit. The optical construction now relly deserves the name "Heliar", since the other modern CV Heliars have nothing in common than the name with the legendary original lenses. The optical design can be found on the Cosina website:

On the other side the 75/2.5 Color-Heliar is also a very fine lens, but has a more modern and sharp look. We will see the difference soon...

If I didn't already have a Leica 75mm f/1.4, then this lens would be potentially tasty indeed.

But as it is, the 75 Summilux together with the 35/2 Summicron puts me in Mandler heaven...

Will be interesting to see just how diffuse and painterly the wide-open look is!
