Well, I'd certainly trade my M4-P for an M9, probably for an M8.2, and quite possbly for an M8. But that would still leave me an M2 and an MP....

Like others, I shoot both. If I had to choose, it would be the M9 as a matter of commercial survival. If I were doing it for a hobby, I might stick with the MP instead. But fortunately, I don't have to choose. Besides, a second-hand film M isn't really all that expensive: a few hundred euros.

A lot depends on your priorities: I drive old cars, and habitually wear my clothes until they wear out, without caring a jot for fashion. As I type this, I'm wearing a T-shirt that I bought when I was living in Guadalupe, California, and I left there 18 years ago. That's why I don't regard 500€ for a Leica as unaffordable.

I have a '58 M2, and a 10D from 2003. Do you guess which camera is completle obsolete?

Showing my respect to the other people choice, a digital Leica M will not last as long as a film Leica M.
It is a pity but its technology has expiration date.
 
I traded the Bessa R2 for an Oly EP2. The R2 is getting more use, and the EP2 is getting use as well.

I have a lot of film cameras, and grab an M3 or Canon P, or any of ~100 other SLR's and RF's.
 
No, digital is much easier for "practical" photography, like taking pictures for putting something in the classifieds, or quick ones at a party for friends and family.

Also, for flash photography with more then one flash, my 200 with two SB-800 and the flash in commander mode ... nothing ever been so easy.

Hm, I see I just answered the opposite question .. Ok, you can send me that M9 and I'll send you my CL (or did you prefer the CLE) 😀 ?
 
One of the biggest myths on this forum is that most of only use digital due to convenience and price... I, for one, actually like the digital process better after many years of B&W, C-41, and Cibachrome printing.

I like film, but unless you are able to do the whole process in a wet darkroom, it doesn't make sense for me. The only reason I'd use film these days is because I love certain film cameras.

Too many people think film is synonymous with "real" photography... and digital is nonsense. Sounds more like an ego thing to me. I'm not stating that there isn't a difference, but each method has its usages and pros / cons.

I don't need to because I use a DX dSLR that I'm really happy with. I don't want to because I don't like or trust the Leica digital M bodies. Maybe they'll get it right by the time the M14 gets released and then I'll bite... 🙂
 
A straight up trade? Of course.

And, after that, I'll find someone to give me a new BMW 7 series for a 10-year old Toyota. 🙂
 
I would love to use an MP instead of my M9, but I neither have the time to process film nor enough room in the icebox to store it until I could.
 
I love digital photography--I would probably trade my M2 for an M9, sure. But I like my current setup of an M8, M2, and small micro 4/3 rig, to the extent that I don't really long for an M9.
 
Without any hesitation I would trade my film camera for a digital one.
I would already have a digital RF if they weren't so expensive.
A digital Bessa (of the same costs as the film one) would be my dream.
