Kitamura Camera (well known nationwide shop) has already started taking pre-orders so I say it's real.

Edit: it's even featured on the top page of their online shop. It says the lens is expected to be out in October. 99,750 jpy (including tax) as MSRP and SALE price (Already??) is 88,350 jpy (inc tax)

That's what I was thinking, but I'm also thinking that Mr K is a savvy businessman and a significant player in the third party lens scene. he's established the Voigtlander name and reputation with the LTM and M series of lenses and he is probably (should be) looking at the future. My sense is that he's probably calculated that he's just about cornered his niche in the RF market and that future growth for his business is most likely going to come from making m43 lenses.
Against that is that the m43 manufacturers have a bit of a lock on the design criteria. Whether that extends to the lens mount design or not I don't know. Maybe he'd have to join the "club" and pay dues before they'd let him run loose.
Still, it's strange that the "announcement" has come from the rumour mill and maybe the Japanese store that's listing it for presale is just being overly opportunistic, and it's no real proof at all.
 
its not a full frame lens, its a m43, its equiv. is the 50mm nokton. no doubt its real/realistic.

I hope theres a full frame version of this.

Seems like they will be producing more M4/3 lenses in the future, right?

(Well, not so quick for Cosina to put that on their own website.)

The same page says Cosina has now officially joined the micro 4/3 standard. (adapters were made under licensing) AND they are planning to produce more lenses in the future. 😀
 
i was wondering when they would start making m43 lenses.

too bad its a 50. such a boring focal length. i want fast manual focus wides that i can focus via distance scale.

Cosina has joined the Micro 4/3 system standard advocate with the release of Nokton 25/0.95. We've produced the adapters under the licensing deal in the past, but we are now officially joining the advocate to produce even higher quality products. We'll continue to create exciting products including m4/3 lenses that speak to customer's heart.
