Shooting RAW with Ricoh GR D iii

A friend lent me one and after 5 minutes with the Ricoh GR-D iii in my hand, I was hooked. Expecting delivery tomorrow. What RAW converter are folks using and how good or bad is the RAW converter that comes in the box?
 
Congrats with your GRD3. I never used the Ricoh software, but since Ricoh uses the DNG format you can go for most of the available RAW converters. I personally prefer Lightroom 3 and gives me very good results.
 
Thanks Wouter. I don't have Lightroom but perhaps ACR plug-in will work in CS3. It was the interface that got me interested in this camera, and the wide, fast lens. The camera actually arrived a couple hours ago. The build quality seems better than the Panasonic LX3 which is what I have been using when a small p/s is called for...
 
I can see how this camera might not appeal to many folks because of its "limitations" (which I consider features) but I am very experienced and it seems just right to me for when something small is needed. My friend who lent me his is a senior staff photog at a major US paper, he loves it.
 
Pablito, it's a great camera and I really like the 21mm wide-converter — it gives you the 21mm EFOV at the full f/1.9 of the original lens, with great quality. You can see some pictures with this converter in the two recent GRD3 threads on this forum.

I use the GRD2, and despite its not being listed in any of the 'compatible cameras' lists at Adobe I have no problem opening raw files with the DNG converter plug-in for CS4, nor does a friend of mine using Elements 5 or 4- a very old one.

I really like the Ricoh files at the lower ISO settings- and print them at 15" long dimension beautifully.

Just popped in the battery- WOW- menu choices are extensive!
 
There are some unusual similarities between the GRD3 and the LX3. The batteries and chargers are identical, the "joystick" on the LX3 works much in the same way as the similarly placed controller on the GRD3. Makes you wonder if the two companies worked together...
 
Battery and charger are the same as well with some Fuji cameras and maybe some others. Why not having R&D together in basic stage of camera development to cut costs?
Wouldnt it be great to have only one type of battery, card or lens mount in every camera category?

Dtto for example in computer or mobile phone industry?
Sounds good to me at least when thinking of environment..
