Good day!,
I recently got this camera at a very bargain price, problem is I can't find any uploaded instruction manual anywhere around the net.

Konica construction site documentation camera
I'm just curious about this camera's ISO capability, especially if it's compatible with iso 3200 film. (AFAIK, this camera reads iso thru the DX coding).
Anyone care to share any info about this "off-road" camera?
Thanks!

Ambitious, but rubbish
Neat looking camera. I can't find anything either, but seeing as it is a fairly recent model, I would guess that it would probably handle just about any ISO you put in it. Just go ahead and put a roll through and see what happens.

I dont know what it is, or how to help you. I do however know that I want one.

I have had this camera for many years. There is absolutely no information anywhere. I bought it for a couple of dollars. It is rugged and optically very good. The 28mm lens is exceptional. I shot recently some ISO 800. See posted examples.

That is a construction site camera used by the japanese to document phases in road building, construction and building sites.

It looks like it's really marketed to building/construction workers. It even has this on the top plate.
Anyways, thanks for all the info guys! I didn't know that these camera is "fairly new".
I'm gonna do some test shots with this bad boy this weekend.
Cheers!

When I read the "off road" part of the cameras I was thinking of Jeeps and Land Rovers. The cartoon character with the hard hat would give that camera a more befitting name of Konica "Tonka Tough" Wide 28.

There is some on photo.net --> in this thread who said he has manual quote below:
"Jean-pierre Bonfils , May 23, 2008; 04:45 p.m.
Hello, everyone
Actually the lens is a 5 elements in 5 groups. I just receive mine, with the manual. And that what the spec shows at the end of the manual. Still it looks like everyone got great shots with it. Cheers. JP"
But looking around the net info is slim to none
Good luck

Bringing this thread back from its death...
I just picked up a Konica 28WB today here in Japan and am already in love with it. The model I picked up is the blue plastic copy.
Another poster mentioned there is no online copy of the instruction manual but I was able to find one from Konica Minolta's site. Only drawback is that it's in Japanese.

Here are some other online references you'll have to use Google Translator for (original languages are Japanese and Chinese):

I have manual for Off-road Wide (which appears to be sold outside of Japan), that is one with larger lens (28/3.5, not a zoom) than seen in post above mine. Lens has 8 elements in 7 groups, it's very good performer.

HU for those interested: eBay item # 321184785428 gets you a 28-56mm Zoom version for USD 149.
No connection to seller, just saying.

Yes, there are a couple of regular postings of Konica worksite cameras on the Bay by Japanese camera sellers. Think of it as a GRD for hiking, climbing, dust devils, beach sport....

what?
I saw this camera in a local store and at Hunt's Camera show in Boston back in the 1980's / early 1990's . No mistake. Black with silver front, but I may be mis-remembering the silver lens ring rather than the entire front. The camera was extremely low weight - one reason I didn't like it.
The guy at the camera show tossed it over his shoulder onto the floor over and over again (of course being film, who knew how much damage was being done to the internals). I almost bought one, but went for the Hexar Silver.
Never saw or heard of it until now.

There is a flickr group for the few OffRoad/Construction site/Site Supervisor cameras too.

I had a black one with silver lens ring about 8 years ago. I ran one roll of film through it and then sold it. The lens on mine was very weak in the corners. Maybe I had a bad example.

Two sources for the manual. You'll have to pay $12.95.
