Hi,
If someone's interested, I can send a 33mm medium yellow filter for free (screw). I think it fits the rigid Industar-22, Industar-50 and 50-2, and maybe other lenses. Black finish.
I ordered it by mistake from Russia three days ago, and it will be here soon...
Cheers,
Juan

The 33mm filter fits the Industar 58 fitted to the Iskra and Iskra 2 cameras, they are usually fairly hard to find.
I have one so will leave it for someone else.

I received the filter yesterday and it's like new: clean and not a single scratch...
I'll be glad to send it (free) to anyone giving me an address... I also received today the filter that fits my lens, so problem resolved.
I checked the yellow tone of the filter I'll send: I compared it with my B+W 22 medium yellow filters and it has exactly the same tone, and takes exactly one f-stop of light. Seeing the blue sky with bright clouds through it, is a pleasure: I'd bet it's just as good as B+W yellow filters, and I'm impressed... The yellow tone is deep enough for a real tonal change and for darker sky and separated clouds, and great for overall contrast and for closer to human sight rendition on blue sky days. It's clean, packaged and ready for leaving.
Cheers,
Juan

Hi,
I am looking for yellow filter for my 40mm f/3.5 Steinheil Cassaron in M42 mount, but I don't know the size. I was wondering if anyone knows if this filter would fit it, or if anyone knows filter thread size for 40mm Cassaron.
Thanks,
Sam.

Hi Sam,
Sure... It's 9:30 PM here, so I'll ship it tomorrow in the morning.
Once a cool RFF member sent me for free a couple of beautiful filters I use with joy and pride, so it's my pleasure preserving a fine RFF tradition... You'll receive it in around ten days...

It's the first lens here:

Looks like you need a much bigger filter... Use a simple ruler to see if the diameter of your lens' filter screw can be 40.5...

I tried 40.5mm filter, and it was too big
It is a great tradition, by the way.
Thanks.

And what does a ruler indicate more or less when you check your lens?

Actually, I didn't try that one:bang:.
I will, once I get home in about an hour and a half.

OK... The link I showed you may be wrong, or maybe it refers to another lens with similar name... I'll wait for your confirmation...

I know, I know.
I come across as a real rocket scientist with this. I saw this thread at work, and figured, I can use it for my Industar 22 collapsible, then read some more, and decided to ask a question, then thought about it, and ...
I don't think I should 've posted anything before thinking.
Sam.

Never mind... You tell me! I just bought an I-22 collapsible that's totally damaged, and even bought the yellow filter for it: it was the wrong size filter!

Of that I'm sure...
Now I'll have to wait another week to check if my beautiful Leitz 36 yellow filter will fit my just ordered Industar-50 collapsible... This is being fun...

Sam, if you meter previously another lens you use a filter on (and of course you know its filter size), you can learn how to use the ruler (how to place it) in a way that's accurate enough for metering other lenses' screw diameters... You will be sure about the size you need... If what you need is the 33 size, you will be sure your metering isn't 32 nor 34...

Hi Sam,
Did you meter your lens?
Should I send you the filter?

Hi, Juan!
I tried measuring it, and it seems to be either 33mm or 34mm.

Actually, after measuring a few more, I think my lens is either 34mm or 35mm filter size. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, long day at work, but I don't think I can use it.
Thank you very much, Juan, for the effort and offer.
