Has anyone heard anything out of Sherry Krauter in the last 2 weeks?

just heard from her a couple days ago: she took care of my m3 & summilux. usually i had better luck reaching her by phone but in this case email was faster.

By now, I'm quite used to Ms. K and Mr. G's communication "issues." I still need them to keep my Leica gear up and running at top speed.

Please let me know if you hear from either Mr. B's.

I went through the same thing until folks here finally beat reality into my brain.

Call Sherry after 12:00 p.m. her time, i.e., East coast time. She does her work at night.

I spoke to Sherry last week and again yesterday. My best luck was calling in the late afternoon from work.

I just got my M6 back today with a CLA and a MP finder upgrade. I also sent in my 75 Lux to be cleaned, but Sherry recomended I save my money because my Lux was so clean. I can't wait to get home and open the box, because I have been without a Leica for a month.

Seems like E-mail sometimes intermitently gets blocked on my work computer. After an initial corespondance over the internet, I had to do the phone follow up to check the status, get a bill so I could send payment, and then again to get a tracking number.

Good luck,

Cal

Ideally, Don, Sherry and others would put the OCD whiners at the back of the list everytime they publicly post or imply that they are not being responsive.

Perhaps they are busy working on someone elses camera. Give them a month or two, and then write a letter.

Treat people with respect.

I think part of this kind of frustration happens because people seem to get fairly rapid responses to their initial email asking if they can send something for service.

Personally, I don't think it's inappropriate to expect some acknowledgement of email, if nothing more than an automatic response that says, in effect, "Please call me...".

(In my case, there was a question I needed to answer before repairs might continue, but no attempt was made to contact me to ask that question.)

That said, I can understand if Sherry and DAG don't want to get bogged down in never-ending email exchanges with customers rambling on about the magic of Leica and all that. (Get a gmail account, set up a vacation notice that lasts all year, and put that in the message.)

I wonder how much time they spend on the phone instead of repairing cameras. The thing about having a camera apart, you do not want any interruptions.

to Ampguy,
since you don't really know the situation that led me to posting my question (and believe me, it was after much deliberation that i finally did), i find it presumptuous and more than slightly offensive that you would use the term "OCD whiners".
but thanks for your input...it was heplful
