Here is my GX I got for 35$ on local forum. when it came it has a dirty finder, a dirty lens, and corroded battery compartment.

cleaning is just plain easy, open the top cover to clean the RF area. using lens spanner for the lens element ( I did open the lens assembly to see how is the mechanism inside as well).
I found that in front of light sensor, there are some amount of white corrosion material (?) which block the sensor. so I cleaned them as well. I was lucky that in front of the light sensor, there is small plastic window to protect it, so by mistake I damaged the plastic window only during cleaning. at the end, I threw away the plastic cover.

battery compartment is easy fix as well. open the bottom plate. and wipe the corrosion with rags+wd40.

at the end, I make a small adapter from foam to hold 2 LR44 battery and it's done. Test time !!!

here are some results of it.
it turns out that my gx still fully working order !!
compare to my hexar af result (I share the film during test), the GX result is more contrasty and full of saturated color. see attached picture below :

wide open !!!

testing timer, around f2.8-f4 with tripod

and

silent as well..

what a nice addition to my collection !

Thanks Mablo, yes, I will join it.
I forgot that there is specific forum for Yashica.. sorry for the wrong room.

No new light seals needed? Also, try the SR44s; they're better performers than the LR variety. It's a great camera, indeed.

Hi Bill58, I was worried in the first time if there will be light leak. but a roll of 35mm is cheap enough to test (I even share it to hexar af), the result convince me that it doesn't need any new light seal.
SR44, where can I buy some ?
in my country, I can't find any in every electronic/watch store I've passed. maybe ebay ?

There's about a 99% chance you need new seals as old as your camera is. Go to ebay and find the dealer named Interslice. Jon Goodman is the owner and he'll fix you up w/ new seals ASAP. He's super helpful too. See the instructions here:http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/sealreplacement.html. Scroll down to the Yashicas.

I'm in Korea and buying SR44s in a store is nearly impossible. Try your country's Internet auction site--that's where I had to get mine. They are superior and worth the trouble. You'll also need two HM-N battery adapters available from http://www.kanto-cs.co.jp because the camera's meter was designed to be used w/ now-outlawed Mercury batteries. Modern batteries have a different voltage, so you need the adapters. Keep the the batteries out of the camera in separate small plastic bags when not in use and the spares in their original packaging at room temperature!

Good luck and enjoy a fine camera!
