I have an old Kodak Vest Pocket camera that I have dismantled and put back together again. I want to try it out but am finding it difficult to get 127 film..
Even if i do get the film there might be issues getting it developed.

Anyone any ideas for both problems?

Thanks

Efke 100 and Rollei Retro 80s should be available from online sources closer to home (I used www.fotofilmfabriek.nl)

That one time I shot Efke 100 I had to develop it myself. Local shop and the lab they send it out to both refused to take it.

Have also a look at http://www.macodirect.de/

You can order R 100 from Efke, Retro 80s, Crossbird and Nightbird from Rollei and some old MACO UCN 200 Colour (C-41) film.

Ask at your local lab - at least 127 BW processing should not be a problem and should not be more expensive than 120 processing.

+1 on the Efke 100 being available- I've gotten it from Freestyle here in the US. I've got a vest pocket I'm working on right now- finally found a parts camera, so I'll be ordering some Efke 100 in 127 soon too.

AG Photographic and Silverprint are the best bets for UK suppliers - not living there, I've never checked their deliveries to Nor'n Iron, but I assume they are the same as mainland UK. It's about £4.40 a roll once you factor in postage. IIRC, AG do a small discount for a 10-roll brick, but Silverprint don't.

Snappy Snaps machines will handle 127, and you have five to choose from (Derry, Coleraine, Ballymena, Lisburn, Belfast), but I can't find your location in Google Maps to suggest a closest one. However, the negs won't fit any of their scanners so they'd have to be scanned individually at a cost of *ouch* (had some done myself). If you do have your own developing and printing/scanning set up, I think that's the way to go. If not, you might have to get them developed and buy a tranny scanner...

Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

You'll find the stainless reels for 127 here and there. GAF marketed a plastic tank with an adjustable reel that can accept 35mm, 127, 126 and 120.

Works fine with 127.

I'm lucky enough to have fotoimpex just around the corner from where I study, they have the efke 100 in 127 format, I also have a little stock of 127 slide and c41 film, in case I get the 4x4 yashicas out!

Thanks for all the replies. I have looked up AG photographic and will order some film next week. My tanks will not adjust to 127 size - so i will have to find a local lab that will do a dev only on the first roll to see if it all works.

I have a number of old cameras that Im gradually working through - my father was an inveterate hoarder, and I seem to have the same gene ! Most are well past saving, but I have rescued a few so far..
