Can anyone suggest any anti fungus stuff that I can put in some lens pouches to ward off any likely hood of it happening?

Moisture is the big enemy. Organic substances like leather can provide the origin and food of the spores but it can still happen through airborne spores or just contamination from handling and use.
So whatever else you might think of, take steps to keep the lenses dry. Don't store them anywhere near a source of damp. If you can keep them slightly warm as well, so much the better. If you've got a linen warming cupboard in the house or a hot water unit that you can store things near it's probably as easy as that.

just found the following which gives a few ideas. Maybe a few herbs to ward off the evil stuff.

I have one lens which is the only one in a leather pouch which has got it. And I thought the leather pouch was a good thing. Shows how wrong you can be.

every time I get an electric device or some crackers in a tin, there seams to be some of that silica stuff in a pouch - in vitamin jars, too. I save them and put them in the container in which I keep the lenses. Periodically, I microwave the little baggies to re-dry and sanitize.
