I bought 10 rolls yesterday for $3.99 each. This morning Freestyles website shows it for $4.99 each! I should have bought a hundred rolls!!!
Also just noticed that now, the ADOX Pan 25 film is lower than the EFKE at $4.49 each.
Does this mean they need to sell more ADOX?

The price of silver has been going through the roof lately... it was just a matter of time before the price of black and white film and paper increased as well. The problem is if/when the price of silver falls will film go back down or will it maintain the price increase. The exchange rate with the dollar also plays a factor, but in reality, as the price of silver is fixed in $USD it is all part of the same game.

Not sure about the US, but in my neck of the woods it still costs 2,40 Euros (=$3,30).

I actually live very near Samobor, Croatia, where eFKe/ADOX is factory is located, and have some information on this... In next month or so there will be another price increase, due to the worldwide prices increase in supplies needed for production (silver, gold for stabilization mainly), plus, whole set of utilities and general cost have gone up in Croatia (natural gas, electricity), so they need to increase prices to cope with this, and they have some issues with actual location and real estate.
ADOX is re-branded eFKe, so expect increase there also, just depends on how much old stock do stores have...

Piece of useless trivia: In the heydays of film Kodak would recover silver from the punched out perforations of 35 mm film. They got about $5 000 000 worth of silver/year from these! That was when silver was around $7/ounce.

Efke films are containing some more Silver then any other regular film. Further the company is not able to buy on low level trade Silver peaks in the common market. For this policy you need cashflow which is unfortunately a problem for the Fotokemika factory.
Well Fotohuis put some extra stock of Efke 25-100 films last month so we keep the price stable till 2011.
