Ugh! Not fast enough. The figure in the foreground is a painted bronze statue of a visually impaired gentleman and his guide dog. The statue is a tribute to The Seeing Eye, one of the largest guide dog training organizations in the world. The statue is located in Morristown, New Jersey. The Seeing Eye's headquarters are a few miles away. The figure in the background is a volunteer from The Seeing Eye who was on a training walk with one of their trainee dogs. If only I'd been little quicker, I might have framed this better to capture both the statue and the live person with the trusty, intelligent canine helpers.
I just found this ten minutes ago for the first time since 1983 and happened to be scanning it without realizing that there were a pair of dogs in the shot. A complete unplanned coincidence.
